During a remote support session, an East Carolina Computers technician connects to your computer so they can troubleshoot the problem directly.
What the Technician May Do
- Review system settings.
- Check software and services.
- Diagnose performance or connectivity problems.
- Install or update software.
- Remove unwanted or malicious software.
- Make configuration changes.
- Restart the computer if necessary.
During the Session
You may be asked questions about the problem or asked to approve certain actions while the technician is working on the computer.
Keep the Computer Available
Keep the computer powered on and connected to the internet until your East Carolina Computers technician tells you the remote support session is complete.
If a Restart Is Needed
If a restart is required during troubleshooting, the technician will let you know what to expect before proceeding.
