Frequently Asked Question

Sometimes East Carolina Computers may ask you for basic network information while troubleshooting.

To find your network information in Windows:

• Press Windows key + R
• Type cmd
• Press Enter
• Type ipconfig
• Press Enter

Look for the active network connection and note information such as:

• IPv4 Address
• Default Gateway
• DNS Servers

If you are connected by Wi-Fi, you can also go to:

Start → Settings → Network & Internet → Wi-Fi

If you are connected with a network cable, go to:

Start → Settings → Network & Internet → Ethernet
