Frequently Asked Question

What Information Should I Include in a Support Ticket?
Last Updated 3 hours ago

The more useful information you include in your support request, the faster East Carolina Computers can understand the problem and determine the next step.

When Possible, Include

  • The computer, device, website, email account, or service affected.
  • A clear description of what is happening.
  • Any error messages you see.
  • When the problem started.
  • Whether the problem happens every time or only sometimes.
  • What you were doing when the problem occurred.
  • Any troubleshooting you already tried.

If the Problem Involves a Specific Computer

Include the computer name or other identifying information if you know it. This can help ECC determine which system is affected.

Do Not Include Sensitive Information

Do not include passwords, credit card information, authentication codes, or other sensitive credentials in a support ticket.
